YOU ASK:

Why does dental insurance not cover antibiotics?

WE ANSWER:

Antibiotics are counted under prescription drugs and are thus payable under your health insurance. Thus, antibiotics, even those that are prescribed by your dentist cannot be claimed under your dental insurance. The purpose of antibiotics is not related to any dental procedure.

Just as your house insurance will not pay for anything that happens to your car, dental insurance will not pay for antibiotics.
